Role Summary
UCEM is initiating a significant project aimed at enhancing its Student Support System, which is crucial for managing student inquiries and support services. The institution seeks a Project Manager to spearhead this initiative, define its scope, formulate a comprehensive plan, and oversee its execution.
The Project Manager will be responsible for all facets of the project, including technical implementation, process evaluation, training, communication strategies, and change management, supported by a Project Coordinator.
Initially, the role will demand full-time commitment, which will taper as the project progresses, allowing the contractor to engage in additional projects. The resource allocation will be coordinated with the Director of Strategy & Planning and the Director of Technology.
- Develop comprehensive project specifications, plans, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Guide UCEM to ensure project objectives are achieved effectively.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and challenges.
- Establish robust project governance and oversee the Project Board.
- Manage relationships and performance metrics with suppliers.
- Prepare stakeholders for the transitions associated with the new system.
- Ensure adherence to quality management processes and documentation standards.
- Provide regular project updates to the Director of Strategy & Planning, the Director of Technology, and the Project Sponsor.
- Oversee the contributions of the Project Coordinator.
- Align project initiatives with UCEM's established processes and protocols.
- Contribute to the enhancement of UCEM's project management capabilities.
Qualifications Required
Essential:
- Proven experience in system implementation and change management projects.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Ability to lead technical teams and manage supplier engagements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated experience in project leadership, stakeholder engagement, and presenting strategic initiatives to senior management.
- Skilled in creating comprehensive project documentation for diverse stakeholders.
- Outstanding leadership and communication abilities.
- Experience in remote project management and budget oversight.
Desirable:
- Experience in higher education or public sector project management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics, SQL, and Tribal SITS applications.
- Relevant project management certifications (Agile, PRINCE2, APM).
