About the Role

The School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics at Plymouth University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teaching Fellow in Engineering to enhance and strengthen our teaching capacity in areas related to Engineering, particularly mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, and robotics, or marine and materials engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to teaching across our suite of foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate Engineering programmes.
  • Provide high-quality teaching at one or more of these levels, including internationalisation activities and widening participation activities.
  • Develop and deliver curriculum content, assessments, and evaluation methods.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement innovative teaching approaches.
  • Support student learning and achievement through individual and group tutorials, feedback, and guidance.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field of Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience of teaching and assessing students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students.
  • Ability to design and deliver curriculum content, assessments, and evaluation methods.
  • Experience of working in a higher education environment, with a strong understanding of academic policies and procedures.
