About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bench Hand Craftsman to join our team at Recra Consulting. As a Bench Hand Craftsman, you will play a crucial role in crafting and assembling high-quality joinery products. This position requires a combination of woodworking expertise, precision, and a passion for craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood components to construct various joinery products such as doors, windows, cabinets, and furniture.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate production of joinery items.
  • Use hand tools and woodworking machinery with precision to fabricate and finish wooden components.
  • Perform tasks such as planning, sanding, shaping, and fitting components to achieve desired finishes.
  • Collaborate with team members, including designers and other craftsmen, to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, following best practices for woodworking and workshop safety.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of joinery techniques and processes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bench Hand Craftsman or similar woodworking role.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for crafting high-quality joinery products.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of woodworking techniques, joinery methods, and wood finishes.
  • Certification or training in woodworking or joinery is a plus.
