Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire, motivate, and support a team of revenue and visiting officers to achieve outstanding performance.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, quality standards, and a customer-centric approach within the team.
  • Provide training, guidance, and oversight to staff, nurturing their skills and maximizing their potential.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Business Rates administration and proactively learn about new legislation or guidance as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external agencies to resolve issues.
  • Efficiently allocate work, offering guidance on the interpretation of regulations and legislation to meet ambitious collection targets.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in leading and coordinating relevant services, with a history of effectively supervising, supporting, and monitoring staff.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and foster collaborative working relationships both internally and externally.
  • A commitment to excellence, demonstrating a proactive attitude towards delivering exceptional services in challenging circumstances and tight timeframes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of Business Rates administration and the confidence to navigate regulatory frameworks.
