Position Overview
The role of a Clinical Nurse Specialist involves providing exceptional nursing care within various departments, including Acute Medical Wards and Community Hospitals. The individual in this position will engage in a variety of assigned responsibilities that encompass both direct and indirect patient care, adhering to established protocols.
The incumbent will be tasked with ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, meeting the standards set forth by Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB, as well as the NMC Standards and Codes of Conduct.
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Managing a designated group of patients and occasionally overseeing the ward/department and its resources during their shift.
- Upholding high standards of patient care.
- Ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Supporting and supervising junior nursing staff.
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive records regarding patient conditions, in line with NMC Standards for Record Keeping and the UHB's Patient Record Policy.
- Collaborating with Clinical Specialists, Doctors, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Clinical Nurse Specialists to address individual patient needs and care plans.
