Job Title: Occupational Health Practitioner

Gi Group is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Practitioner to join our client in Worksop. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting and supporting the health and wellbeing of employees.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct occupational health surveillance and health screening to identify potential health risks and provide guidance on mitigating measures.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety team to develop and implement health and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Provide medical advice and guidance to support staff returning to work after a period of absence.
  • Organize and conduct health surveillance assessments in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Identify health trends within the organization and develop strategies to prevent ill health and absence.
  • Lead and participate in groups promoting health and wellbeing, including mental health first aiders.
  • Work with the Health and Safety team to improve first aid provision and increase the skills and confidence of first aiders.
  • Organize and promote annual flu vaccination drives and other immunization services as required.
  • Maintain information on external support agencies and services to refer staff for specialist support.
  • Refer staff for external services as required, ensuring financial regulations are met.
  • Develop and lead health promotion and education initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Experience in an occupational health position outside of a hospital environment.
  • Experience in a medical role.
  • Recognized occupational health qualification.
  • Registered nursing qualification.
  • Knowledge of current occupational health best practice.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and team working.
  • Ability to work in an organized and methodical manner.
