Job Summary

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Safety and Environment Manager within the Transport Programme. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of nuclear materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety management systems to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with MOD policy and regulations.
  • Manage and maintain safety cases for vehicles and equipment employed on Transport Operations.
  • Coordinate safety management activities across nuclear safety management interfaces and with Transport stakeholders.
  • Support the Transport Programme and commercial activities through SQEP advice on safety and environmental requirements.
Requirements
  • Professionally recognised environmental management qualification or relevant experience.
  • STEM qualification at Level 6.
  • System Safety Practitioner (MOD internal applicants only) and/or PGCert System Safety Engineering.

Working Arrangements

This role is based in Bristol or Reading, with regular travel between sites. Hybrid and flexible working can be considered, but regular workplace attendance is required due to security constraints.
