Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Volunteer Engagement Manager to join our team at Victim Support. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for supporting and managing our existing volunteers, recruiting new volunteers from diverse communities, and raising awareness of our services across Kent and Medway.

About the Role:

  • Support and manage a team of volunteers, providing guidance and resources to ensure their success.
  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit new volunteers, focusing on building a diverse and representative team.
  • Collaborate with local agencies, community groups, and educational institutions to promote volunteering opportunities with Victim Support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including volunteer bureaus, community leaders, and local authorities.
  • Develop and implement effective communication plans to raise awareness of our services and promote volunteering opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of volunteer engagement strategies, making recommendations for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Volunteer Management: Provide ongoing support, training, and guidance to volunteers to ensure they are equipped to deliver high-quality services.
  • Volunteer Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies to attract new volunteers, focusing on building a diverse and representative team.
  • Community Engagement: Collaborate with local agencies, community groups, and educational institutions to promote volunteering opportunities with Victim Support.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including volunteer bureaus, community leaders, and local authorities.
  • Communication: Develop and implement effective communication plans to raise awareness of our services and promote volunteering opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in volunteer management, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the local community and its needs, with a passion for promoting volunteering opportunities.
