Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Practitioner to join our Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to women and families in the perinatal period.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Intervention: Conduct thorough assessments of women's mental health needs, identifying risks and developing effective care plans to promote well-being and reduce risk.
- Caseload Management: Coordinate a defined caseload of women, providing regular support and guidance to promote positive outcomes and improve mental health.
- Collaboration and Partnership: Work closely with colleagues in maternity services, health visiting, children's centres, and children's services to ensure seamless care and support for women and families.
- Training and Education: Deliver mental health training and education to non-mental health professionals, promoting awareness and understanding of perinatal mental health.
- Qualifications: Educated to diploma/degree level and registered with an appropriate professional body (e.g., Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Registered General Nurse, etc.).
- Training and Experience: Training to level 3 in Safeguarding Children and Young People: roles and competencies for Health Care Staff or willingness to undertake training. Substantial experience of managing a busy caseload of clients with a range of mental health problems.
- Knowledge and Expertise: Specialist knowledge in perinatal mental health or willingness to undertake training. Ability to manage risk and plan creatively to maximize effectiveness of care plans.
