Job Title: Orthopaedic Practitioner Trainee
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthopaedic Practitioner Trainee to join our team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Plaster Room team, you will be responsible for providing specialist casting and post-operative wound care to patients, as well as engaging in the delivery of a same-day casting service to various departments within the Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist casting and post-operative wound care to patients, with a focus on Trauma and Orthopaedic patients.
- Deliver a same-day casting service to Plastics, Trauma, Diabetic Podiatry, and ED MUA clinics, as required.
- Assist in the delivery of training and education to areas within the Trust who use Plaster of Paris.
- Provide expert patient, carer, and staff advice when a cast is applied.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to casting and wound care.
Requirements:
- Registered healthcare professional with a strong background in orthopaedic care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, carers, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
- Knowledge of casting and wound care principles, with a focus on best practices and evidence-based care.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workloads, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
