Job Title: Personal Assistant for Fun-Loving, Energetic Child

We are seeking a caring and energetic individual to support a 5-year-old boy with Autism in his home or community. The successful candidate will provide companionship, personal care, and engage in activities that promote the child's development and well-being.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and support to the child
  • Ensure the child's safety at all times
  • Engage in activities that promote the child's development and well-being, such as puzzles, singing, and outdoor play
Essential Criteria:
  • Full understanding of Autism and its effects on children
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring nature
  • Ability to think on your feet and respond to the child's needs
  • Full driving license and access to a personal vehicle
Desirable Criteria:
  • Understanding of Echolalia and its impact on communication
  • Previous experience as a Personal Assistant or in a similar role
Personal Qualities and Attributes:
  • Responsibility, reliability, and trustworthiness
  • Good time-keeping and communication skills
  • Ability to respect confidentiality and privacy
Working Hours:

6 hours per month on weekends, with the option to split this time over every other weekend. 8 hours per school holiday week. Hours to be agreed at interview.

Pay and Benefits:

£11.44 per hour on weekends and weekdays. Meal preparation, personal care, and social activities are included in the role.

Training and Support:

Essential PA Guide, Safeguarding Adults/Children, Understanding Challenging Behaviour, First Aid, Hand Hygiene, and Autism/Aspergers training will be provided.
