International Grant Audit Manager

We are seeking an experienced audit professional to join our team as an International Grant Audit Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading international development grant assurance specialists and conducting audits or special assignments in a wide range of locations.
Key Responsibilities- International Travel: Travel regularly to various locations, conducting audits or special assignments, and working with NGOs, public sector organizations, and institutional donors such as the United Nations.
- Public Sector Audit Expertise: Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of public sector audit issues and techniques, providing guidance to team members based on previous experience.
- Public Sector Structures and Legal Frameworks: Demonstrate a detailed understanding of public sector structures and the legal and contractual frameworks in which assignments are performed, providing guidance to team members based on previous experience.
- International Standards on Auditing (ISAs): Demonstrate a detailed understanding of ISAs and provide guidance to team members based on previous experience.
- Assignment Planning and Execution: Be involved in the assignment process from planning to finalization, preparing a tailored plan for large or complex assignments based on an understanding of the terms of reference.
- Team Leadership: Lead assignment fieldwork teams, including locally based staff, for large or complex assignments.
- Reporting and Communication: Demonstrate the ability to identify findings on an assignment and write them up in a detailed, precise, and clear way in the assignment report, leading opening meetings, and presenting audit findings at closing meetings.
- Assignment Management: Conduct assignments in a sceptical but constructive manner, draft reports for each assignment on a timely basis, and be responsible for completing the audit program and audit file.
- Time Management and Budgeting: Be aware of assignment deadlines, work with the team to ensure deadlines are met, monitor time spent on assignments against budget, and discuss with the Manager if budget overruns are anticipated.
- Business Development: Prepare proposals for specific assignments within a framework contract, contribute to drafting tenders, identify potential opportunities for obtaining new work, and take action to follow up such opportunities with a manager/partner.
- Internal Development: Provide on-the-job training and guidance to more junior team members throughout the assignment process, contribute to office-based training sessions, conduct induction training for new staff members, and do job appraisals for more junior team members.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a fluent French speaker and have a strong background in public sector audit, with experience in conducting audits or special assignments in a wide range of locations. You will also need to have excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
