About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Cardiothoracic Anaesthetist to join our team at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. As a key member of our integrated cardiac services, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic care for patients undergoing complex cardiac and thoracic procedures.

Main Responsibilities

As a Cardiothoracic Anaesthetist, you will be working closely with our team of cardiac and thoracic surgeons, as well as other healthcare professionals, to deliver exceptional patient care. Your duties will include:

  • Providing anaesthetic care for patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgery
  • Participating in the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols
  • Contributing to the education and training of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals
  • Engaging in research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • FRCA or equivalent qualification
  • Full GMC registration
  • Experience working as a Fellow or Advanced Trainee in CT Anaesthesia
  • Independent TOE skills
