Senior Decontamination Manager

The Senior Decontamination Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the decontamination service, ensuring a high-quality service is provided to patients and staff. This role requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Main Responsibilities- Operational Management: Oversee the decontamination service, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Specialist Practice: Provide high-quality decontamination services as a qualified Senior Specialist.
- Support Clinical Care: Contribute to patient care through specialized decontamination services.
- Professional Judgement: Use specialist skills to review scientific data and ensure safety.
- Autonomous Work: Operate independently and as an autonomous practitioner.
- Deputising Role: Step in for the Sterile Services Manager as needed.
- Self-Management: Plan workload and work with minimal supervision.
- Budget Management: Work within budget constraints.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with and support the decontamination team.
- Staff Management and Training: Manage and train staff to maintain high performance.
- Safety Focus: Ensure customer and patient safety at all times.
- Qualified as a Senior Specialist.
- Extensive knowledge of decontamination services.
- Strong judgement and ability to interpret scientific data.
- Leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Person Specification- Holds a postgraduate Degree or is able to demonstrate an equivalent level of management experience.
- Experience of investigating incidents.
- Knowledge and experience of working with service level agreements/contracts.
- Experience of Human Resource management.
- Ability to recognise and monitor parameters of quality, accuracy and imprecision according to quality procedures and legislative requirements.
- Chartered Membership of the IDSC or to be in place within 6 months of start date.
