Job Purpose

The Apprenticeship Assessor will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality apprenticeship programmes across the Midlands. This position requires a strong understanding of the delivery of Level 3 apprenticeships for the Teaching Assistant apprenticeship standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement schemes of work and session plans in collaboration with the Quality Team.
  • Deliver Functional Skills qualifications as part of an apprenticeship programme.
  • Lead the delivery of Teaching Assistant Apprenticeships up to Level 3.
  • Conduct initial assessments of learners to determine their starting point on the course.
  • Evaluate learner performance in the workplace.
  • Provide training on a 1:1 or group basis, both face-to-face and online.
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum development in relevant subject areas.
  • Ensure inclusive and high-quality courses, materials, and opportunities for all learners, actively promoting equality and diversity.
  • Comply with the internal quality assurance strategy to ensure assessments meet high standards.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities as identified through observation and line management.
Requirements
  • Teaching Qualification at Level 3/5 or equivalent (Essential)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (Essential)
  • TAQA Assessors qualification or equivalent (Desirable)
  • IQA qualification or equivalent (Desirable)
Experience
  • Proven experience working within the education sector.
  • Experience working with young people aged 16 and above.
  • At least five years' experience in an education, training, and development environment with a track record of successful outcomes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of standards up to Level 3, 4, or 5 with different relevant awarding bodies.
  • Knowledge of funding streams and funding requirements for the delivery of Apprenticeships, Traineeships, and other skills programmes.
  • A strong understanding of Functional Skills, specifically legacy English and Math.
