Commercial Director Job Description

The Commercial Director role is a leadership position within the EMEA Commercial Team, responsible for the commercial control and delivery of over €1 billion in annual capex. The successful candidate will lead the commercial leadership of numerous data center construction projects and teams across several EMEA regions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage commercial teams and multiple consultants to deliver complex projects
  • Optimize construction costs, provide financial control, manage project commercial risks, and deliver effective reporting
  • Work closely with the VP Commercial and other Commercial Directors
  • Lead on the reduction of cost of construction for all projects and designs to be delivered across EMEA
  • Develop and maintain budgets and master CAPEX models to accurately inform business decisions
  • Identify and leverage opportunities for strategic development and delivery of contracts
  • Implement KPIs and reporting formats to provide a complete view of construction and expansion projects across EMEA
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction, surveying, finance, or a similar field
  • 15+ years of experience delivering commercial management services on complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Director-level expertise in all aspects of Commercial Pre-Construction and Post-Construction activities
  • Demonstrable track record of setting commercial delivery strategies and managing commercial project teams
  • Experience of leading design development on complex projects and working alongside project management
  • Excellent communication and technical skills in English
