About the Role

Mace is seeking an ambitious and forward-thinking Mechanical Electrical and Public Health (MEPH) Design Manager to join our established and growing team in London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with lead designers and design consultants to ensure timely submission of RIBA stage reports and design sign-off.
  • Lead the design management of MEPH systems, working with the lead designer and other design consultants to deliver all MEPH outputs required for each RIBA stage.
  • Support the management of tools, including design responsibility matrices, design programmes, and design risk registers.
  • Lead the management of the design team to ensure MEPH design strategies are successfully developed throughout the delivery of the project.
  • Develop and implement design management plans to ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including building regulations and fire regulations.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, design consultants, and statutory utility bodies.
Requirements
  • Degree in engineering, building surveying, or architecture, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Extensive professional design management experience with a focus on engineering building services and retrofit.
  • Membership of CIBSE, CIOB, ARB, RIBA, MICE, RICS, CIAT, or equivalent.
  • Depth of knowledge of MEPH systems within listed buildings and working on MEPH retrofit projects.
  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of carbon and sustainability considerations in project delivery.
