An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Category Manager to join Investigo's expanding food-based business as a Category Manager (Waste).
Based in Birmingham, this role requires a 1-day weekly commitment.
As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of 2 professionals.
The salary package includes £60,000 plus a £6,000 car allowance and private healthcare benefits.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure regulatory and legislative requirements are met for individual categories.
- Accountable for delivering agreed targets and objectives.
- Conduct strategic category reviews with the line manager to achieve savings targets, improve quality and service levels, and meet business objectives.
- Implement long-term strategic category plans.
- Prepare annual budgets for categories and reforecast monthly.
- Be the category expert and first point of contact for responsible spend areas.
- Track commodity pricing information and use data to support commercial and business objectives.
- Manage senior-level supplier relationships.
- Establish and manage strategic relationships with suppliers, setting performance targets and ensuring they are met.
- Support and coach less experienced team members and deputize for the Head of Procurement as needed.
- Own cross-category or cross-functional projects involving supplier-related issues.
Experience in procurement within the Waste Category is essential.
Previous supervisory or management experience is also required.
