About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Media Officer to join our national media team at Alzheimer's Society. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering proactive and reactive press activity to raise the profile of Alzheimer's Society and promote our work in the field of dementia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement media strategies to secure consistent, quality media coverage that instigates and sustains dialogue on dementia.
  • Work closely with our storytellers, high-profile celebrity ambassadors, researchers, and thought leaders to devise and deliver media activity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to ensure alignment with our overall communications goals.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage to identify trends and opportunities for future engagement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts and influencers.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a press office or media role, with a strong track record of securing quality media coverage.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling media releases and pitches.
  • Strong analytical and interpretation skills, with the ability to analyze media coverage and identify trends and opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team.
