This company is ready to enhance its operational capabilities and expand its presence in both existing and new markets. They are currently seeking a Payroll Operations Manager for a full-time, permanent role.

The position involves delivering precise payroll services for all staff, adhering to current legislation, and addressing any payroll-related challenges that may arise.

The role demands exceptional attention to detail, robust organizational abilities, and current knowledge of payroll and pension regulations.

Your Responsibilities as Payroll Operations Manager:
- Oversee the complete payroll process for approximately 300 employees on a monthly basis, ensuring timely and accurate compensation.
- Guarantee the precise and prompt processing of payroll, including regular salaries, overtime, bonuses, and other remuneration.
- Manage payroll adjustments such as new hires, terminations, contract modifications, salary updates, and tax code alterations.
- Maintain employee attendance records and manage holiday, absence, and overtime payments.
- Prepare and submit payroll documentation (P60s and P11Ds), ensuring accuracy to avoid penalties.
- Communicate payment requirements and deadlines to the payment team.
- Administer the auto-enrollment pension scheme, including assessments, correspondence, and monthly contribution submissions.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with changes in regulations and accurate employee payments.
- Keep comprehensive and updated guidance notes on payroll procedures reflecting changes in company policy and employment law.
- Collaborate with payroll software providers on system upgrades and enhancements.
- Liaise with payroll providers for a small number of overseas employees.
- Generate data for the Gender Pay Report.
- Address payroll inquiries from regulatory bodies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Provide information for financial reporting and broader payroll analytics.
- Support the finance team with various ad hoc tasks.

Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Proven experience managing end-to-end in-house payroll processes with a solid understanding of current regulations impacting employee benefits and payroll operations.
- Ability to identify and proactively resolve potential payroll discrepancies.
- Familiarity with Advanced Payroll systems (Mitrefinch and Flexipay) is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A proactive mindset with a history of implementing process enhancements.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, capable of working independently and meeting tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to accommodate the cyclical demands of the role.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for managing spreadsheets, records, and reports.
- Customer-focused approach to assist employees and managers with payroll-related inquiries.
