We are in search of a skilled Senior Clinical Practitioner to enhance our team at Thornaby & Barwick Medical Centre. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in healthcare, specifically as a pharmacist or advanced nurse practitioner. Essential qualifications include:
- Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- For pharmacists: successful completion of an accredited 18-month training program and certification as an independent prescriber
- For nurses: graduation from a recognized MSc advanced practice program or completion of the Centre's ePortfolio Route
The successful applicant will demonstrate the expertise and knowledge necessary to broaden their role in patient care. Key responsibilities include:
Main Responsibilities:
- Practicing independently within their specialty
- Facilitating innovative approaches to enhance service efficiency
- Contributing to the advancement of clinical practices and standards
- Offering guidance, education, and support to patients
Job Duties:
- Operating autonomously with advanced clinical expertise
- Managing both acute and chronic health conditions
- Formulating treatment plans and advocating for health education
- Assisting the team during emergencies and safeguarding situations
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications:
- Licensed healthcare professional
- Master's degree in accordance with the Multi-professional framework for advanced clinical practice
- Registered as an independent prescriber
- For pharmacists: completion of the designated training pathway
- For nurses: graduation from an accredited MSc program or ePortfolio Route
Experience:
- Clinical expertise and skills in a specialized area
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices and clinical governance
- Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation and operate within the scope of practice
- Knowledge of health promotion strategies and Patient Group Directions (PGDs)
- Strong analytical skills and capability to perform under pressure
