Job Title: Orthopaedic Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopaedic Practitioner to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

About the Role

This is a full-time locum consultant post in Paediatric Oncology, attracting 10PA. The post holder will join a team of 9 consultants delivering paediatric oncology, haematology and aftercare services to the South West and beyond. The post is primarily based at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC) but the post holder will liaise closely with colleagues in secondary care in the South West supporting a long established and highly devolved shared care network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our services
  • Work closely with colleagues in secondary care in the South West to support a long established and highly devolved shared care network
  • Perform outreach clinics to those centres
  • Contribute to the supervision of in-patient and day-case care of oncology patients
  • Support the shared care network delivering outpatient care
  • Rostered weekend and evening on-call
Requirements
  • Full and specialist registration in either AIM or GIM with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview
  • Higher academic qualification e.g. MD, PhD or equivalent
  • Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in Paediatric Haematology & Oncology
  • Able to take responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision
