As a Field Sales Consultant, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate new business opportunities and engage with designated clients to enhance the sales and profitability of the company's Professional Audio-Visual (Pro AV) offerings. Your main focus will be on direct selling and managing client accounts to achieve revenue targets by understanding customer requirements and recommending suitable products, services, and solutions while ensuring a seamless sales experience. A degree of creativity and independence will be essential in this role. You will interact with various levels within customer organizations, including technical, operational, supply chain, and executive teams. Additionally, you may be tasked with preparing and presenting sales proposals, bids, and product demonstrations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops and implements customer account strategies in collaboration with management. Drives billing margin initiatives through enhanced services, marketing strategies, and supplier collaboration. Identifies potential clients through prospecting, including cold outreach and leveraging referral networks. Engages with clients to ascertain their product or service requirements; recommends appropriate solutions. Showcases product functionalities and benefits to clients based on their specific needs. Ensures ongoing customer satisfaction through effective communication and relationship management; addresses any post-sale concerns. Maintains regular contact with current and past clients, informing them of new offerings and enhancements. Utilizes sales management tools for strategic planning and opportunity documentation. Enhances product knowledge through training provided by WESCO and its suppliers. Fosters strong partnerships with suppliers, including conducting joint sales visits. Prepares and delivers quotations either independently or in collaboration with the sales support team.Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Previous sales experience is essential, with a preference for outside sales experience. A minimum of two years of industry experience is desirable. Willingness to travel to meet with clients and suppliers. Flexibility to work varied hours and occasional overnight travel. Strong sales and negotiation capabilities. Proficient in developing and delivering presentations. Excellent interpersonal skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with advertising and sales promotion techniques is preferred. Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time.Work Environment:
This role primarily involves outside sales, with work typically conducted in an office setting; however, travel to client locations or warehouse facilities may be necessary. The position may require extended periods of driving with frequent stops and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
