Job Title: Early Years Foundation Stage Practitioner

About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Nursery team at Devon County Council. As an Early Years Foundation Stage Practitioner, you will be responsible for working with our 2-3 year olds or our 3-4 year olds, providing a high-quality learning experience that meets the needs of all children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging learning activities that promote children's cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the planning, preparation, and evaluation of learning activities, ensuring they are aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the Nursery, including sharing knowledge and expertise to improve practice.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in Early Years education.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare or a related field.
  • Experience of working with children aged 2-4 years, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the Nursery.
  • First aid qualification desirable.
