IO Associates is seeking a Compliance Engineer for a prominent independent firm specializing in property and infrastructure support services, providing comprehensive building and facilities management solutions.

The selected candidate will ensure engineering compliance by implementing compliance initiatives and maintaining documentation in accordance with established compliance protocols. The role involves collaboration with the design team to assess design data and formulate compliance policies.

Position Overview:
Job Title: Compliance Engineer
Job Type: Permanent/Full-time
Location: Remote with travel to various sites
Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct DSEAR inspections.
  • Coordinate compliance initiatives by developing schedules, cost assessments, and necessary resources.
  • Assist clients in achieving compliance by identifying and addressing compliance challenges, recommending suitable product or process modifications to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Document compliance through appropriate testing, inspections, assessments, and the preparation of investigative reports.
  • Perform sample testing and quality assurance procedures to support compliance.
  • Enhance the reputation of the engineering team by taking ownership of new requests and seeking opportunities to add value to projects.
  • Manage new service requests and the mobilization of engineering compliance contracts.
  • Research and identify relevant regulatory and industry compliance standards and codes.
  • Develop compliance strategies by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying compliance engineering concepts and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Stay informed about emerging compliance engineering practices and standards through educational opportunities, professional organizations, and industry publications, sharing insights with the broader team.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment with complex products is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proven track record of achieving continuous improvement in parts or processes against clear objectives.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Excel.

Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Compliance Engineer.
  • CompEx certification is desirable.
  • City & Guilds RA & PUWER Practical Workshop certification is a plus.
  • City & Guilds Machinery Safety Course certification is advantageous.
