Role Responsibility

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Kent County Council's Shared Lives Service, providing high-quality support to vulnerable adults in their homes.

As a Shared Lives Officer, you will be responsible for assessing, monitoring, and developing Carers to ensure they provide excellent support to adults in their care.

You will work within a dedicated team to ensure that Shared Lives Carers meet Care Quality Commission (CQC) and in-house performance standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and monitoring Carers to ensure they meet the needs of adults in their care.
  • Developing and implementing care plans to support adults in leading independent and fulfilling lives.
  • Working with the Referrals Officer to coordinate new placements and ensure a robust matching process with potential Carers and their families.
  • Supervising Shared Lives Assistant Officers and Shared Lives Workers.
  • Providing experience of working with people with assessed social care needs, completing assessments and care planning.
  • Having a sound understanding and experience of adult safeguarding.

Requirements include:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent in a related discipline.
  • Experience of working within a multi-agency environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant Social Care legislation.
  • Good computer literacy and report writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in partnership with people and our wider partners to help identify services or resources in the community that can support well-being.
  • Registration with the Health Care Professionals Council.
