Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Brook Street UK. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to care experienced young people aged 16-25, helping them to develop independent living skills, social skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people who have complex needs and present challenging behavior.
  • Support and work with young people to develop all aspects of independent living skills, social/life skills, problem-solving and planning skills, and reducing risk-taking behavior.
  • Work across various settings, including group living settings, to provide trauma-informed, nurturing support to young people.
  • Collaborate with Key Workers to achieve positive outcomes and maintain the safety and well-being of each young person.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in working with hard-to-reach young people.

Requirements:

  • Enthusiasm and commitment to working with hard-to-reach young people who have had poor experiences.
  • Ability to build positive relationships quickly.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in high-challenge, high-support environments (desirable).
  • Ability to manage and respond to a range of behaviors using a calm, reassuring approach underpinned by support and supervision.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and risk management.
  • Self-motivated and confident with the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Commitment to equality and diversity.
  • Positive, flexible attitude towards work.
