Job Title: Senior Pharmacy Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at University Hospital Lewisham. As a key member of our Pharmacy Stores and Distribution team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the receiving and distribution service, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of medications to wards and departments.
  • Supervise a team of pharmacy assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality work.
  • Develop and implement effective stock control systems to minimize waste and optimize inventory levels.
  • Train and mentor junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Cover the storekeeper in receiving goods from external suppliers, ensuring seamless operations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 12 months experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Experience in a pharmacy stores setting, with a strong understanding of automated pharmacy picking systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to take initiative and make interventions assertively and appropriately.
  • Maths and English GCSE Grade C and above or equivalent, and NVQ level 2 Pharmacy Services award or equivalent.
