Job Title: Nuclear Safety Case Developer

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety Case Developer to join our team. As a key member of our Site Safety Case Team, you will be responsible for providing authoritative guidance on the development of safety cases that meet relevant good practice UK nuclear legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain an effective safety case capability through the provision of authoritative advice, guidance, mentoring, and coaching of safety case specialists.
  • Provide input to the Principal Engineering Manager (Site Safety Case) on the production of effective safety cases through the application of appropriate analytical methods and development of the documentation structure.
  • Act as a senior SME for safety case development, ensuring that the Site Safety Case Team undertakes all activities in a manner consistent with Company Policy, Business Processes, and the Quality Assurance programme.
  • Represent the company at internal and external meetings associated with safety and regulation of nuclear sites as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the techniques and methodology used in the development of safety cases that meet relevant good practice UK nuclear legislation.
  • Knowledge of the UK nuclear regulatory landscape and permissioning requirements (desirable).
  • Experience within the UK submarine build programme (desirable).
  • Attained or working towards Membership of a relevant professional institute (desirable).
