Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

TipTopJob is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Walsall. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating technical drawings and designs using CAD software, liaising with manufacturing providers, and being involved in the final assembly of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and technical drawings
  2. Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure timely and accurate production
  3. Contribute to the final assembly of products and ensure quality control
  4. Prepare and update project reports, plans, and documentation
  5. Input parts into the MRP system and create BOMs
  6. Check and sign off technical drawings

Requirements:

  • HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.
  • Previous experience working with sheet metal is preferred
  • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
