Assistant Head Job Description

Cambian Dunbroch School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Head to join our team. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a vital role in supporting the Headteacher in the overall management of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Headteacher in strategic planning and implementation of school policies.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of a tailored curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our students.
  • Mentor and support teaching staff, providing professional development opportunities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the well-being and academic progress of all students, implementing effective support strategies and interventions.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers, ensuring open communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure the school meets all regulatory requirements and maintains the highest standards of safeguarding.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: QTS
  • Proven experience in a leadership role.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
  • In-depth understanding of SEN best practices and current educational policies.
  • Compassionate, resilient, and committed to the ethos of inclusive education.

About Us:

Cambian Dunbroch School is an independent co-educational day school that caters to students who have ongoing complex Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. The school typically caters for up to 22 students aged between 12-18 years of age with a wide range of educational background and needs.
