At Cavendish Nuclear, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As Area Health and Safety Lead, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our employees and the success of our projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services.

The Role

As Area Health and Safety Lead, you'll be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the HSE advisors' K.P.I.s and supporting the HSE Area Lead in accident investigations.
  • Conducting audits of MEH site activities and sub-contractor operations, as well as facilitating meetings.
  • Recording the findings of audit reports and inspections in line with the HSSE Management system requirements.
  • Building relationships with other Tier 1s and the Principal Contractor.
  • Monitoring the working practices of MEH employees and contractors regarding health and safety, environment, and welfare.

This role is full time and is based onsite at Hinkley Point C.

Essential Experience

We're looking for someone with:

  • Significant, relevant construction experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills to explain HSE procedures and expectations to a range of people.
  • Working knowledge of the Health and Safety regulations.
  • IT literacy - familiar with Microsoft packages.
Qualifications

We require:

  • NEBOSH general certificate / NEBOSH construction certificate or equivalent.
  • Health and Safety Diploma or working towards.
