Hunter Mason Consulting is a prominent contractor specializing in external wall fire risk remediation. We have established a strong partnership over the years, contributing to their expansion and success.
We are currently seeking a Senior Fire Safety Consultant to join our project teams, providing essential fire safety expertise from the initial tender phase through to project completion.
This role is part of a well-capitalized and profitable group of service providers focused on building envelope installation and refurbishment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage closely with Clients, Contractors, Developers, and other key stakeholders.
- Conduct Risk Assessments in accordance with current regulations.
- Provide practical and cost-effective recommendations to mitigate risks.
- Develop and maintain a Quality Management System, regularly reporting on project statuses.
- Review existing fire safety documentation provided by clients and assess its adequacy.
- Perform Fire Risk Assessments both internally and externally, adhering to industry standards, and compile comprehensive reports, including PAS9980 documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams to devise cost-effective and practical remedial strategies.
- Participate in client and resident meetings to discuss issued reports and their implications.
- Assist project teams in compiling Engineering Reports.
- Work closely with the clerk of works and contractors to ensure compliance checks are conducted throughout the project lifecycle.
- Attend site progress meetings as necessary.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in Fire Safety Engineering.
Proficiency in signing off PAS9980 Reports is essential.
Experience with Type 1-4 Fire Risk Assessments is required.
Familiarity with Compartmentation Surveys is advantageous.
Experience in both large and small refurbishment and re-cladding projects is preferred.
Professional qualifications such as MIFireE and CEng or nearing CEng status are desirable.
Full membership in the Institution of Fire Engineers and Chartered Engineer status with the Engineering Council is preferred, along with expertise in Fire Assurance Services, focusing on FRAEW & EWS1 services, intrusive inspection services, and remedial consulting.
While the position is based in the East Midlands, the role allows for flexibility in office presence due to advancements in technology.
