Job Overview

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Pharmacist to join our Medicines Advice and Governance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines across our trust.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on medicines-related matters, including policy development, guideline implementation, and quality improvement initiatives. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary teams to ensure that medicines are used safely and effectively, and that our patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on medicines-related matters to healthcare professionals and other stakeholders
  • Develop and implement medicines policies and guidelines to ensure safe and effective use of medicines
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to improve medicines use and patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care pathways and effective communication
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medicines-related research, guidelines, and best practices
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist with a strong background in medicines advice and governance. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Experience in medicines advice and governance, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
