Position Overview:
As a Development Underwriter at The Travelers Companies, Inc., you will provide exceptional service and prompt responses to new business inquiries. Your primary focus will be on cultivating relationships and securing new business opportunities while assisting the team in managing and underwriting renewal accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and underwrite risks to enhance business growth
  • Negotiate terms and conditions in line with underwriting standards
  • Ensure the quality of business, growth, and profitability
  • Build and utilize broker/client relationships effectively
Qualifications:
  • Preferred degree-level education
  • Demonstrated experience in underwriting
  • General understanding of the local insurance market
  • ACII qualification is a plus
