Job Description

Senior Energy Planner Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Energy Planner to join our specialist in-house town planning team at Climate17 | B Corp™. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving our renewable energy projects through planning milestones, making a significant contribution to UK Net Zero targets.

About the Role

  • Support the Planning Director and senior team in day-to-day planning activities.
  • Visit sites across the UK to evaluate risk and project scope.
  • Conduct site feasibility appraisals and provide internal planning advice.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications and supporting documents, including DCO and DNS applications.
  • Provide project planning support, planning strategy, and work closely with the development project managers.
  • Help the team coordinate EIAs and manage external EIA teams.
  • Engage with project stakeholders, including local planning authorities and communities.
  • Manage pre-construction planning activities, including discharge of condition applications and scheme variations.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree within the planning sector.
  • Experience delivering consent for renewable energy generation projects.
  • Excellent working knowledge of planning policy and practice.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Well-developed project management and organisational capabilities.
  • Clean, full UK driving license.
