Job Summary

Beach Baker is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Town Planner to join our team. As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in managing projects and mentoring junior members of the Planning team.

About the Role

You will be working as an integral member of the planning division, responsible for all aspects of the planning process, from initial site appraisals through to the preparation and submission of planning applications and associated condition compliance/appeal work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Take a leading role in managing projects, including promoting sites for residential and commercial developments through the local plan process.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior members of the team, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Planning Applications: Prepare and coordinate planning applications, including drafting supporting statements and preparing fee proposals.
  • Site Assessment: Assess the potential of sites for a range of developments, identifying opportunities and constraints.
  • Liaison: Liaise with internal and external technical specialties, clients, and local planning authorities.

Requirements

  • RTPI Accredited Degree
  • MRTPI Qualified
  • Town Planning private sector experience
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Full driving license and use of own vehicle

Desirable

  • Experience in the Environmental/renewable energy sector
  • Experience across both public and private sectors
