About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Needs Teacher to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, promoting their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the unique needs of students with SEN, such as autism.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students with autism, helping them to overcome social, emotional, and mental difficulties.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to create comprehensive support plans for students with SEN.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development, ensuring that all necessary documentation is up-to-date.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification in SEN education.
  • Previous experience of working in a SEN school setting.
  • Strong understanding of different SEN needs and effective strategies for supporting students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Dedication to promoting inclusion and equality in education.
About the School

The school is a special school for children aged 5-11 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties, often linked to special educational needs such as autism. The school fosters a calm and nurturing environment with a focus on resilience, safety, and respect.

The school has a range of facilities, including purpose-built classrooms, a sensory room, therapy hub, quiet rooms, food technology kitchen, creative learning room, sports hall, outdoor play areas, a large playground, an outdoor learning area, and a courtyard garden. IT facilities are up-to-date with laptops and interactive boards in every classroom.
