About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and solution-focused Commissioning Officer to join our team in the Adult Social Care and Public Health Directorate. This is a 12-month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and commission high-quality, sustainable, and person-centred care and support services for older people and those with a physical and/or sensory disability.
  • Manage and deliver a range of commissioning activities, including planning and development of services, procurement of new services, and service reviews.
  • Support the co-design of innovative new service models and shape the local provider market to promote people's aspirations and ambitions.
  • Work with local providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality and effective services that demonstrate value for money.

Requirements:

  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple strands of work within deadlines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work with a range of internal and external partners.
  • Confident in working with people to effect positive change and passionate about developing support services to improve the opportunities and lives of older people.
  • Interest in and some experience of supporting older people, people with a physical and/or sensory disability, and the government's agenda in relation to these areas.
