Job Overview:The Commonwealth of Virginia is committed to fostering educational opportunities that empower individuals and enhance community well-being. The Student Support Representative plays a crucial role in this mission by being the initial point of contact for inquiries regarding academic and student services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and community members through various communication channels, including in-person, text, and phone.
- Provide administrative assistance to college personnel within the Help Hub.
- Adapt to a flexible work schedule that may include both on-campus and remote responsibilities.
- Occasionally work evenings and weekends during peak enrollment periods.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in administrative roles.
- Background in customer service is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to engage with a diverse student demographic.
- Commitment to the principles of open-access education and student achievement.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An associate degree or higher.
- Familiarity with eVA and PeopleSoft systems.
- Experience in higher education settings.
