Job Title: Asset & Security Advisor

As a key member of the Protective Security Team at Thames Water, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our critical assets. Your primary responsibility will be to direct and control the performance of physical security measures, ensuring that our infrastructure assets are secure and protected from potential threats.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Security Risk Assessments: Conduct thorough security risk assessments across our estate, identifying potential vulnerabilities and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Security Investigations: Investigate security incidents and breaches, analyzing the root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Security Advice: Provide expert security advice to stakeholders, aligning with relevant regulations, policies, and industry standards.
  • Security Projects: Lead on bespoke security projects, working with project teams to oversee security upgrades and initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including intelligence agencies, specialist police units, and regulators.
Requirements:
  • Background: A background in physical security, protective security, intelligence, security management, or risk management, or experience in the water industry with a willingness to develop into a security role.
  • Skills: Experience in designing and applying physical and personnel security measures, understanding of technical requirements in areas such as VSS, intruder detection, and access control.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate leadership qualities, strong negotiation, and people influencing skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI).
What We Offer:
  • Competitive Salary: £38,000 to £42,000 per annum, depending on experience and skills.
  • Benefits: Contributory pension, 26 days holiday per year (increasing to 30 with length of service), car allowance, and a wider benefits scheme.
