Job Title: Teacher of SEMH

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of SEMH to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Teacher of SEMH, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored educational support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of students with SEMH difficulties.
  • Foster a supportive and empathetic classroom atmosphere that encourages personal and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to develop and implement individualised learning plans.
  • Manage challenging behaviours in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary.
  • Support the emotional wellbeing of students and help them develop coping strategies.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs, ideally in an Alternative Provision or SEN setting.
  • Strong understanding of effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students with complex needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable students.
Desirable:
  • Additional qualifications or training related to SEN/SEMH.
  • Experience of delivering bespoke or vocational qualifications.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed practices.
