As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role in driving the delivery of software development and tech-led improvement projects, supporting our mission to enhance digital utility solutions for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
Key Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of Software Development and Tech-led Continuous Improvement projects, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Define project objectives and deliverables, collaborating with Product Managers and Lead Developers to transform complex technical requirements into clear, actionable project plans and results.
- Work with other departments to ensure business alignment and preparedness for technical deliveries, fostering a culture of collaboration and open communication.
- Create and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and risk management plans.
- Develop and manage detailed project timelines, ensuring effective resource allocation and minimizing delays.
- Monitor and report RAG status of project schedules, quality, and cost, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Identify, manage, and report RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), ensuring proactive risk management and mitigation.
- Manage the involvement of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to facilitate business approval for live software releases, ensuring seamless integration and deployment.
- Prepare project communications plans, including stakeholder engagement and project status updates.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for project principles and governance, providing instruction and advice to business areas/teams as required.
- Proven working experience in project management, with a strong track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Professional project management qualification (Prince 2, Agile PM, APM, etc.), demonstrating a deep understanding of project management principles and best practices.
- Excellent external and internal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging project documentation and reports.
- Very strong organisational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including project management tools and software.
- Working knowledge of project delivery life cycle, with a deep understanding of project phases, milestones, and deliverables.
- Experience with project management software tools, including Agile project management methodologies.
- Knowledge of Agile principles (desired but not essential), with a willingness to learn and adapt to new methodologies and approaches.
