Quantum Computing PhD Opportunity

We are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our team as PhD researchers in quantum computing at the National Quantum Computing Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of quantum computing technology and its applications.

About the Role

As a PhD researcher, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team working on various aspects of quantum computing, including quantum software development, quantum information, and quantum algorithms. You will have the opportunity to work with leading experts in the field and contribute to the development of new quantum computing technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in quantum computing and software development
  • Develop and implement quantum algorithms and software
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals
  • Present research findings at conferences and workshops
Requirements
  • Strong background in computer science, mathematics, or physics
  • Excellent programming skills in languages such as Python or C++
  • Experience with quantum computing software and tools
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
What We Offer
  • Full-time PhD tuition fees
  • A tax-free stipend of £19,237 per year
  • A Research Training and Support Grant (RTSG) of £9,000
  • 8 weeks of paid annual leave, plus funding for sick leave and parental leave
