Structures Asset Engineer

At Connect Plus Services, we're seeking a talented Structures Asset Engineer to join our team and contribute to the management and operation of the M25, one of Europe's busiest and most vital road networks. As a key member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in developing comprehensive lifecycle plans that ensure the longevity and safety of this critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement asset management, maintenance, and renewal strategies for all structure categories, including bridges, large culverts, small span structures, retaining walls, sign/signal gantries, and masts.
- Utilize the Asset Management System, including RMMS and Decision Support Tools, to identify structural renewal and maintenance interventions.
- Support the delivery of, and undertake as required, bridge inspections.
- Assist with structures condition reporting.
- Participate in scheme identification, option studies, and other lifecycle advisory activities related to structure renewals.
- Conduct whole-life cost analysis, including lifecycle planning, optimization, and prioritization of renewal schemes, to support the development of the Annual Asset Management Plan, the 5-year Rolling Asset Management Plan, and the 30-year Rolling Asset Management Plan.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and contract service schedules related to bridge structures.
- Support the program of work on substandard structures, including piers and parapets.
- Liaise with the CPS on-roads team to ensure consistency in maintenance regimes.
- Attend callouts for the management of emergency incidents involving specified assets.
- Assist in collating information for effective performance measurement and controls.
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
- Working towards Professional Qualification, MICE, MIAM, MIStructE, or similar.
- Knowledge and experience of highway bridge asset management and an understanding of bridge inspection and maintenance activities.
- Awareness of RWSC, DMRB and SHW.
- Understanding of Asset Management Systems.
- Understanding of working within the Strategic Road Network, with National Highways.
- Experience in Windows server operating systems.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.
- Current UK driving license.
