Cardiac Specialist Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Specialist Nurse to lead our Community Cardiac Services team at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS FT.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive community cardiac services, focusing on heart failure and cardiac rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care and outcomes.
- Lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals, delegating duties and prioritizing workload.
- Contribute to shaping the future delivery of services across the Trust, supporting operational developments.
- Utilize advanced clinical skills to ensure patients and carers receive the best possible care and outcomes.
- Act as a role model in expert practice, facilitating and supporting the delivery of effective patient care.
- Support and assist staff in developing appropriate management plans of care for individual patients or client groups.
- Identify and promote areas for practice development, including guidelines and procedures to support the delivery of care.
- Facilitate and participate in Trust-wide groups that require specialist nurse input.
- Provide appropriate and consistent professional advice to other senior members of the team.
- Facilitate effective communication between primary, secondary, community, social care, and voluntary services.
- Provide regular reports to the Service Manager to allow for regular monitoring and evaluation of the service.
- Current NMC Level 1 Registration.
- Specialist Cardiac qualification, Glasgow Caledonian.
- Educated to degree level or evidence of equivalent experience.
- Evidence of postgraduate study in cardiac care, ECG course.
- Specialist teaching qualification ENB 998 or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) trained.
- Independent & Supplementary Nurse Prescriber.
- Substantial experience of managing a team of multi-disciplinary staff.
- Substantial experience of working within a complex cardiac environment.
- Substantial experience in delivering community-based cardiac care.
- Experience of managing complaints informally and through the formal Trust route.
- Experience and understanding of NHS and healthcare systems.
- Understanding of the needs of socially and culturally excluded groups.
- Experience of organizing and chairing team meetings and planning staff events.
- Experience with finance, budget management, effective use of resources, procurement, and the use of SBS systems.
- Significant experience of managing databases, producing and analyzing reports for audit.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate sensitive, contentious, and emotive issues to complex patient groups.
- Ability to produce high-quality, error-free clinical documentation and reports and presentations in a timely manner.
- Excellent planning and organization skills, demonstrating an ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent time management, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Ability and confidence to show initiative and service development when required.
- Ability to speak in a clear and articulate manner, dealing with people in a courteous and diplomatic manner.
- Ability to demonstrate the implementation of evidence-based practice and quality initiatives.
- Ability to work under pressure, with competing priorities and to deadlines.
- Ability to work professionally, confidently, and effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
