About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Specialist to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Specialist Dementia and Frailty Team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with dementia and older adults with functional mental health needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Advanced Nurse Practitioner to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate packages of care tailored to individual service user needs. You will also have responsibility for supervising and managing junior team members within your professional group and team locality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and reviews of care in line with mental health care clusters.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of health legislation, principles of CPA and Care Management, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act 1983, safeguarding, and risk assessment/management.
  • Supervise and manage lower-banded staff, promoting their professional development and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care.
  • Travel across sites and Trust boundaries to attend meetings and provide care.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification.
  • Experience in performance management and supervision of lower-banded staff.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
