Position: Senior Electrical Systems Engineer

Due to ongoing success and a strategic growth initiative, we are looking to hire a skilled and proactive Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to join our esteemed engineering team.


In this role, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will oversee all facets of electrical and instrumentation systems within a dynamic manufacturing setting. You will collaborate with the engineering team on various projects and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal plant operation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform both scheduled preventative maintenance and responsive repairs on a variety of electrical and instrumentation systems.
2. Engage in continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment reliability and performance, developing maintenance strategies and participating in machinery refurbishment initiatives.
3. Design and implement electrical systems and associated PLC/HMI software for production machinery and automation projects, ideally with experience in Siemens systems.
4. Ensure that machine and equipment software is securely backed up with organized documentation to facilitate quick recovery of lost programs and data.
5. Manage electrical and instrumentation projects while coordinating with other departments to minimize production disruptions.
6. Organize and collaborate with contractors as necessary, planning for plant and equipment shutdowns when required.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a methodical and analytical approach to troubleshooting and problem resolution, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be capable of working independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications include:

- IT proficiency and a minimum qualification of C&G or BTEC in Electrical Engineering or higher.
- Proven hands-on experience in electrical engineering and diagnostics, with at least 3 years of experience working with PLC/HMI systems, drives, and control systems.
- A solid understanding of industrial production equipment and basic mechanical engineering principles.
