About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Care Officer to join our team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council. As a key member of our residential childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support and care to children and young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Engage with children and young people in a range of activities, promoting their independence, self-esteem, and life skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a safe and supportive living environment, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Participate in regular supervision and training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years' experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities.
  • Hold or be willing to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
