Mortgage Underwriter Job Description

Molo is a pioneering fintech company revolutionizing the mortgage industry in the UK. As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in our mission to make mortgages easy and accessible for customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and underwrite mortgage applications to minimize risk to the company while adhering to regulations and standards.
  • Work closely with the Underwriting Lead to ensure efficient planning, management of workloads, and process improvement.
  • Support colleagues in underwriting and completing mortgages, minimizing risks associated with each application.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Credit Risk, Treasury, and Finance teams to ensure all lending requirements are satisfied before releasing funds.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a direct mandate holder in the mortgage and loans industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of residential and Buy-to-let applications, including portfolios, multi-unit freehold blocks, and large HMOs.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
